01 What happened
Copilot Chat now includes a feature that allows generating and editing images using natural language in chat, eliminating the need to switch to external tools. The feature, powered by GPT Image 2.5 Flare, previews the result inline and saves it to the project workspace. It is in public preview for Copilot Pro, Copilot Pro+, Business, and Enterprise plans. Billing is separate via image tokens counting toward AI credits. Organization and enterprise owners can disable image generation via model policies. Users can opt into a visible "Made with AI" watermark (off by default). Available in VS Code, the GitHub Copilot app, and Copilot CLI.
